Michael,
I hope so - you are more than welcome! I will kick of an official invite to you from the site.
I am hoping that a lot of the sharing of information will be around a lot of common issues that will come up regardless of the actual IT solution put in place. I suspect that a lot of issues will be around people and process issues. Then there will be all the issues around a common list of orderables (if we are ever to fit into NPfIT/CfH), ref ranges etc etc. Who should be allowed to order & which tests etc etc.
Speaking personally - I will appreciate any help I can get from the group, and hope that I will be able to put back into the group some lessons once we have finally ordered our Indigo4 OrderComms system (it's like getting through treacle to get the upteen Boards to OK the purchase!).
regards

Dear Fiona,
I am currently involved with developing order comms for my trust. It is an
in-house based system so I am not sure I would have much to contribute to
the group. I would be interested to share experiences, and find other ways
of doing things that may add to the development process here. Is this forum
likely to be suitable for such a member?
Best wishes, Michael.

Subject: "NHS Order Comms" Google Group
I am the Pathology Computer Manager for Somerset Pathology Services. We
have the Clinisys Scotland Ltd "LabCentre" LIMS, and are about to get the
Indigo4 tQuets/Review ordercomms system. Previously there was a PMIP forum
to discuss pathology electronic reporting issues, and there was an NHSIA
forum where lots of useful discussions & and sharing of information on IT
issues happened. These have both been killed off. The NHSIA one to much
protest. As we were about to start an OrderComms project, I decided to
take some action and so created a Google Group called "NHS Order Comms". I
created the group in the hope that NHS staff involved in the procurement,
configuring, testing, piloting & implementing Order Communications for
pathology requesting by GP Practices and/or Hospitals, would find it a
useful resource in sharing lessons learned, and asking for advice etc.
Rick Jones suggested I post to this group, to see if anyone on this group
would be interested in joining the Google "NHS Order Comms" group, or knew
NHS staff in Pathology (or IT) who may wish to join the group. I would
welcome any contact details that you may have of staff who may find this
group helpful, so that I could invite them to the group. I have presently
set the group up as restricted access. So staff need to be invited to join
the group.
