Yes
We thrombolyse all suitable strokes here in the ED
Dorset ambulance "fast track" them to the ED, our coordinating nursing
staff do a quick assessment (FAST Score) and if suitable they go
immediately to CT
We have a consultant rota for the thrombolysis which essentially id the
geriatricians and the ED consultants.
The consultant on-call then does the NIH scoring and has the final
decision on thrombolysis.
We offer this service M-F 9-5 at the mo but there are discussions to
take it to 10 PM and weekends
I can supply our fast assessment sheet if you think it will help

Subject: Thrombolysis in stroke
We are in the early stages of planning to introduce thromblysis for
stroke
in my trust. Does anyone on the list have experience with this, or know
who
does? (I think Steve Meek said last year that his hospital thrombolysed
strokes.)
