Hello,
I don't think you can do it the way you want.
You have first to renumber residues 80 to last residue with an offset of +1.
Then add terminal residue selecting 79. An alanine will appear (sometimes in
a weird place...). This alanine will be residue 80.
Regularize zone to get proper geometry.
Simple mutate or Mutate and fit to change to the residue you want if not
alanine.
Hope that helps,
Arnaud

Subject: [COOT] Insert residue
Hi,
I am very unexperienced COOT user (just couple days).
I wonder how can I insert amino acid into existing chain? For example, I
want to insert an additional residue between existing #79 and #80 and give
it a temporary number #791 or #79A.
Thank you very much. Sergei
