Thanks for the replies on this. The aim is to use it through a DX system. I take your point about the different way in which this operates via the mouse mover. I think my colleague has done just that but the one we had available at the time was a PS/2 type. he managed to use another device in-line to convert it to USB and it appeared to work fine.
