That's probably the best way to do it I think.
However, if you *really* want residue 79A (in the 0th molecule):
1) change chain ids on residues range 80 to 81 in Chain A to X
2) Add terminal residue to 79A.
{Coot creates residue 80}
3) (change-residue-number 0 "A" 80 "" 79 "A")
4) Change chain ids of 80 to 81 in X chain to A
Now if you try to refine residue 79A, Coot will promptly crash (I am
given to understand).
