Dear SPM experts,
I am attempting to run a within-subjects ANOVA (2nd level analysis) with
non-sphericity correction. I have 36 conditions and 13 subjects.
When I 'estimate', I receive the following error:
Temporal non-sphericity (over voxels) ..... REML estimation
? Error using --> times
Out of Memory.
error in spm_reml at 96
dFdh(i) = sum(sum(PCy.*PQ{i}))/2;
error in spm_spm at 810
[v,h] = spm_reml(Cy,xX.X,xVi.Vi);
[plus a recommendation to use HELP MEMORY] This involves packing
variables and I am not sure how to do that in the middle of an analysis....
------------
I have taken the following steps:
I am using a duo core processor with all memory cards installed
(registering 3.4 GB RAM). I increased paging to 15 GB (which is close to
the maximum).
Nevertheless, I encountered the same problem.
(I still have 29 GB available on my hard drive, after setting this
paging .....).
I ran the analysis again as a test, using 6 Ps (successfully), destroyed
that, then again with the other 7 Ps (successfully).
In my spm_spm.m file, at line 468, MAXMEM=defaults.stats.maxmem
In spm_defaults.m, at line 32, defaults.stats.maxmem = 2^20
Is there a way to alter the relevant spm files? Would you be able to
guide me on the syntax? Many thanks for any help you can provide!!
