Travel:
Galway is a lively and energetic university town and tourist
destination situated on the spectacular West Coast of Ireland. Galway
is easily reached by air, ferry, train, bus or car or a combination
of these. The University is situated in the town centre on the banks
of the river Corrib.
Flying to Galway airport is the simplest way to travel here. Galway
airport is just a 10 minute taxi ride from the city centre (cost
around 15 Euro). Aer Arann (www.aerarann.com) fly several times a day
to Dublin, Manchester and Luton and also serve Bristol, Leeds,
Edinburgh, Cardiff, Cork and Lorient in France. Flybe (www.flybe.com)
has a route to Belfast.
Alternatively, there are a number of other access points. If you fly
to Dublin, there is a direct coach service from Dublin airport to
Galway city centre which takes 3-4 hours (www.citylink.ie).
Shannon airport is approximately 90 minutes by bus (www.citylink.ie
or www.buseirann.ie) or car and is a hub for transatlantic flights
to/ from North America as well as short haul budget flights serving
Britain, Ireland and Europe (Aer Lingus and Ryanair).
