We have some racking, double-sided, eight shelves high that is 28 boxes long - (7 bays of four by eight). These are manually moved with a gearing mechanism rather than the 'shove and shunt' variety. They are beautifully smooth and easy to use at this size.
We use standard archive boxes which seem to average at 10kg per box so nearly 4 tonnes per rack.

Is there a limit on how long a row of mobile shelving can be?
Does anyone have any manual mobile shelving rows of 10 bays in length (or longer) (1000cms) - and if so are they easy to move?
Thanks!
Catherine Redfern
