This challenging post is based in Central London. It offers an exciting
opportunity to lead the corporate records team and work closely with the
Information Strategy Manager. You will help consolidate the worldwide
intellectual and physical control of British Council records and
documentary resources. This will bring you into contact with all aspects
of the work of the world's most successful cultural relations organisation.
We seek a talented and experienced professional to set the vision for our
electronic records management capabilities to help meet our strategic
information management goals. You will also help us achieve consistent
information management standards across the organisation.
You will possess the following characteristics:
- Relevant Records Management post-graduate qualification
- Knowledge of standards and legislation applicable to electronic records
- Evidence of strategic planning and implementation
- Substantial records management expertise
- Track-record of project delivery on time and to budget
- Experience of managing a small team and of coordinating a global network
- Strong customer-focus
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Capable of presenting to diverse audiences.
As well as having strong professional skills, you will be curious,
energetic and self-starting and will bring flair and imagination to the
job of communicating with a variety of internal customers. You will also
be able to draw on the confidence that comes from experience to advise
senior colleagues about the best approach to managing information. The
ability to develop records management skills in others and to apply RM
principles to a global organisation undergoing wide-ranging strategic
change will be an essential asset.
