I don't pay enough attention to be able to take sides, but there are
two things I'd like to mention. (1) a supposedly level-headed, honest
apology that includes terms like "loudmouth know-it-alls" & "bullshit"
is an ugly & hypocritical one. i.e., an apology with the sentence "I'm
not sorry" strikes me as pretty laughable. (2) bringing the quality of
a co-arguer's poetry into an academic (or anti-academic, as it may
happen) debate is ad hominem, a fallacy. (3) I wasn't offended or
insulted by what JG said, and I'll thank JD not to assume as much on
my behalf.
