I loved the review, Joe. Wow: 'Who is Oswald LeWinter? This new book,
“Ages of Chaos and Fury: Selected Poems 1949-2005, is a masterpiece.
It places Oswald LeWinter on a par with Hart Crane, Robert Lowell and
John Berrymann, and Cavafy despite the meagreness of his publication to
date. The book contains a lifetime of his most prized poems; the
brilliant “Coming Out”, a young man's poem that demonstrate the poet's
almost awesome command of his craft.'
Itself a masterpiece, obviously, but of what? Unintended parody,
perhaps?

and this is 'life' and we owe at least this much
contemplation to our western fact: to Rise,
Decline, Fall, to futility and larks,
to the bright crustaceans of the oversky.
