This is what pulled up last time I went looking to see how to resolve ear wax. However, I would suggest that having ears syringed because they feel blocked is justified, having them syringed because you need to have a hearing test done less so unless there is evidence that hearing is impaired

Hello Gina
I'd agree with the other responses in that I would do the test but document
the visual inspection on the ear canal. I'd ask them to visit their GP for
further advice, and then come back for a repeat test once the canal was
clear.
I wouldn't suggest syringing as I don't have the evidence it works, and I'd
be concerned of the associated risks with it. It may be that some ear-drops
or warm olive oil applied at night, may help. Of course if anyone has
evidence of the benefits of syringing please let me know, either on or off
the list.
Regards
Glenn
