HR will always bump this sort of thing into the OH area, it ia not an OH issue, push it straight
back to HR and line management, he has no underlying health reasons for not doing night shifts,
therefore purely perosnal, therefore management/HR decision. Do not budge or you will be deciding if
he can retire at 55 instead of the company policy of 60!!
Cheers

Dear List
Just a quick question. We have seen a HGV driver absent with anxiety since his shift was changed 3
weeks ago to Night Shift. He has disclosed no underlying health issues that would prevent him
working nights and has worked 2 night shifts, complained he could not sleep and then went sick.
The question is...is this an OH issue or a management issue with regard to change management?
There is a similar situation with a colleague who is now absent with anxiety as he could not get
the shift change he wanted to accomodate his personal circumstances.
I have my own thoughts but the associated HR department disagree!!!!
Thanks
Ellie
