The Laboratory of Theoretical Chemistry at Universite Paris Est
(Marne la Vallee) is expecting to be able to fill a professor's
position in the spring of 2008. The recruitment would be effective
September 1st 2008. If the renewal of this position is approved by
the ministry the position will appear on the official list published
usually at the end of March in the 'Journal Officiel' which is available
online.

Candidates interested in this position or any other position in French
higher education are required to have passed a national qualification
procedure in order to be admitted to the recruitment procedure at

The ANTARES server is open for preregistration now. The period for
preregistration ends on October 17, 5pm Paris time. Preregistered
candidates will be informed about the appointed referees and will have
to submit a complete application file until December 19, 2007.

Universite Paris Est is located about 20 km east of downtown Paris.
The Laboratory of Theoretical Chemistry is specialised in accurate
calculations of the electronic structure and dynamics of molecular systems
relevant for reactivity and spectroscopy in dilute media and has more
recently evolved towards studies of intermolecular interactions of interest
for the field of cluster and surface science. We are seeking a candidate
with a strong background in applications and method development in one or
several of the following fields: electronic structure, rovibrational and
rovibronic spectra, intermolecular interactions, clusters, surfaces.

The new professor will be involved in teaching at all levels ranging
from general chemistry to advanced courses in the master's program
'Theoretical Chemistry and Applications'. Good knowledge of French is
important.
