The London Renaissance Consortium has been established to take advantage
of the wealth of Renaissance teaching and research in London and to
create a network through which information about seminars and
Renaissance events can be shared. The consortium intends to facilitate a
community amongst the researchers, teachers and students active in this
field of study.
The consortium will circulate regular email bulletins providing a
calendar of regular Renaissance seminars taking place across London in
addition to publicising on this webpage major events. Forthcoming events
include seminars to be given by Professor Stephen Campbell (Johns
Hopkins University) at the Courtauld Institute of Art Research Forum,
and lectures to be given by Professor Michael Cole (University of
Pennsylvania) at UCL.
The webpage will also feature the names and research interests, should
they wish, of postgraduate students participating in the consortium,
which will be available from the beginning of the next academic year. It
is also intended that the London Renaissance Consortium will organise an
event during the Spring Term to bring together teachers and students in
order to discuss various aspects of research.
Participating Institutions:
Birkbeck College
Courtauld Institute of Art
Queen Mary
Royal Holloway
University College London
Victoria & Albert Musuem/Royal College of Art
