Information Skills Trainer
Based at the Royal Free Hospital Medical Library, UCL Library Services
£36,351 - £42,907 per annum inclusive of London Weighting. Full time.
Permanent.
A vacancy has arisen for an Information Skills Trainer based at the Royal
Free Hospital Medical Library in Hampstead, part of UCL Library Services.
The postholder will lead and further develop an innovative programme of
training in the use of the full range of online learning and information
resources supported by the Medical Library. The postholder will also
contribute to the provision and development of information skills training
within biomedicine and health across UCL Library Services, and will have
line management responsibility for two members of staff. In addition, the
postholder will be part of the project team responsible for developing the
National Library for Health Specialist Libraries for Gastroenterology &
Liver Diseases and for Neurological Conditions.
The successful applicant will have a recognised qualification in
librarianship or information studies, with substantial up-to-date, relevant
experience of working in a health or university library. Significant
experience of planning, developing and delivering information skills
training programmes that meet the needs of health and medical library users,
plus proven experience of applying e-learning technologies and awareness of
pedagogical principles, is essential, and the successful applicant will have
excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of designing
training resources and developing interactive web-based training material
would be an advantage.
