italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Colleagues,
STUDIO (associated with Warwick's Centre for the Study of the Renaissance)
and Warwick's Italian department are co-sponsoring two talks this term on
the Italian Renaissance. Both will take place at the University of Warwick,
Humanities Building, H4.03, at 5:00, accompanied by refreshments. All are
welcome to attend!
On Tuesday, 30 October, Maude vanHaelen (RCUK fellow, Italian and Classics,
Warwick) will be presenting a talk on Ficino and Savonarola on Prophecy¹.
On 4 December, Rhiannon Daniels (Leeds) will talk to us about 'Rethinking
the History of the Decameron'.
Also of interest: on 9 November, the Centre for the Study of the
Renaissance, in collaboration with the Newberry Library, will host a one-day
conference on 'Gender and Belief in the Early Modern World'. Further details

PLEASE NOTE THAT POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ARE WELCOME AND WILL BE HOLDING SOME
OF THEIR OWN ACTIVITIES, specifically an interdisciplinary postgraduate
forum. In any case, the DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS 1 NOVEMBER.
