Dear all,
The third meeting of the 2004 Workplace Employment Relations Survey (WERS)
User Group will take place on Friday 26th October 2007 at the University

WERS 2004 User Group meetings follow a similar format to those organised
by other survey user groups. The WERS 2004 Information and Advice Service
(http://www.wers2004.info) will outline developments in the use and
enhancement of the survey data. However, the major part of the proceedings
will be devoted to presentations from invited speakers on analytical
issues or WERS 2004-based research. Papers to be presented include:
"Equal opportunities and business performance: evidence from British
workplaces" by Hilary Metcalf and Rebecca Riley
"Knowledge sharing through face-to-face communication and labour
productivity in UK trading workplaces" by Sergio Salis and Allan M
Williams
"Employment of temporary agency workers and industrial relations - panel
evidence from the British Workplace Employment Relations Survey" by René
Böheim and Martina Zweimüller
"Are women happier than men at work? a multilevel analysis" by Maria
Fajarini Ratnaningsih and Gindo Tampubolon
"Job quality and labour markets" by Andrew Brown, Andy Charlwood,
Christopher Forde and David Spencer
The meeting will begin at 10am and end at 4pm. Attendance is free of
charge. However, places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first
come, first served’ basis upon receipt of a completed registration form.
Around 30 places are available for those not presenting papers.
The meeting will be held in B1.19, Warwick Business School, Scarman Road
Building - No. 62 on the map of the central campus:
