hello Ihave never posted on this sight before, but have watched with
interest and find many of the discussions very informative.
I am a third year disability studies student at northumbria uni and
looking to submit a dissertation on the experiences of young people with
learning difficulties during their journey to adulthood. As a disabled
parent of an adult son with learning difficulties I am aware of many of
the relevant issues. I would like to listen to the experiences of young
people with learning difficulties (about 4 or 5)to help me formulate from
their own perspective what they see as being 'adult'and the particular
barriers they encounter as disabled people.bearing in mind I need ethical
committee approval, are there any young adults who would be willing to
tell me of their own journey form adolescence to adulthood.
