Do you realise that the categories of CP and AS are not necessarily mutually exclusive? Indeed I
have known at least one case where they were not, and it is statistically likely that there are many
others given the greater prevelance of the bearers of one of those biliteral nominative than the
other.
But I don't suppose most reserchers think about such things as it is far too fuzzy to the
constructed world of occamist mythologisers.
Put in plain English being as there are more people diagnosed as AS than there are CP, and given
that the accepted diagnostic criteria for each in no way contradict each other, there is going to be
an overlap at some point, which then raises an interesting question in it's own right.
I do fear that this reserch methodology is a little over simplified in that never mind the
complication I have raised, there are many others which govern a persons career path, suitability
for employment and relative discrimination.
As for stats on AS the NAS would be a good starting point, particularly as they operate the
prospects employment service for people with AS, which will have some stats accompanying it.
What is your problem gaining access to the NAS? Would you like me to take up the case, as one
researcher helping out another? I can't help you out directly as a subject because at the time of
most of my jobseeking I was not a graduate.
