Dear all,
A number of members of the CHAT Standing Committee will be standing down
from November, and there will be up to 5 vacancies on the Committee.
Expressions of interest are invited, and should be sent to
[log in to unmask] by Friday 9 November. The expressions of interest
will be considered by the Committee when it meets at the CHAT conference in
Sheffield, and the new members will be announced then.
The general responsibilities of the CHAT Standing Committee are to oversee
continuity between one conference and the next, and act as a back up to the
specific organisers in various years where necessary.
The Committee meets once per year (at the CHAT conference). It
- ensures the continuity of CHAT & publication of annual conference
proceedings volumes;
- promotes CHAT within the wider archaeological community and ensure the
participation within CHAT of all interested parties, not just those based in
universities;
- ensures that CHAT conferences remain a forum for postgraduates, young
scholars and archaeologists in the wider archaeological community.
