Please find below provisional details of the workshop of the Russian
Archives Training Scheme to be held in Glasgow on 22-23 November. This is
aimed in particular at PhD students in any discipline who will be carrying
out or have already carried out work in Russian archives. We would be
extremely grateful if you can make any relevant PhD students aware of this
as well as ensuring that the notice is displayed as appropriate in your
departments. Please note the short deadline period for students to apply
for funded places.

The workshop is open to all scholars who use Russian archives in the
course of their research. There is no registration fee, but all those
planning to attend must register by email to:

Research students registered in the UK for a PhD or other research degree
in a relevant subject area may apply for the full cost of their
accommodation and meals during the workshop, and a contribution to their
travel costs (this funding is made available by AHRC and does not count
against any BASEES funding allowance). Research students who have already
carried out some archival research are invited to present their findings
at the workshop. Further details and an application form will be posted

15th October 2007.
Research students who have already carried out archival work and would
