Family Learning opportunity….
Sheffield Archives and Local Studies need your know-how to make things
happen
Sheffield Archives and Local Studies Library have been awarded funding by
The National Archives through MLA Yorkshire to support the development and
running of family learning activities.
They know what they have and are keen to explore the potential to use their
collections as a starting point for enjoyable family learning.
Open to ideas - and looking forward to sharing this intriguing opportunity -
the project could include storytelling, creative writing, drama,
handicrafts and indeed anything else that will allow families to work
together in a creative way.
A co-ordinator and/or a creative practitioner would ideally know about
planning and running family learning activities and would have ideas for
sustaining the offer beyond March 2008
To get you thinking, Sheffield Archives and Local Studies have records that
show:
· how and where people lived
· how and where people worked
· how people behaved in families and communities
· how Sheffield has developed
· how people interacted with the various forms of establishment (e.g.
education, crime, health etc)
· how people spent their leisure time
· and lots more!
Activities must be developed by March 2008. The fee will be in line with
the daily rate for freelancers recommended by MLA Yorkshire. The number of
days will be negotiated with Sheffield Archives and Local Studies.
