Dear all,
The next Archaeobotany workgroup previously held at Fort Cumberland,
Portsmouth in 2006 and in Leicester last March will take place at the
Institute of Archaeology, UCL, on Saturday the 10th of November 2007.
The program will be as follows:
10.30 - 1pm:
- Wendy Smith on evidence of malting from a CTRL site in Kent
- Lis Pearson on Worcestershire databases and the HER
- Archaeological Science and the HERs
- Discussion on the relationship of specialists with the units (requested
by a freelance archaeobotanist)
- Any other discussion
2pm-4pm + if necessary:
- microscope work. Looking at people's material and questions
- a special request: hexaploid/tetraploid rachis fragments, criteria,
As before, this event is an informal one and people will be bringing food
to share.
All those who are interested and likely to be in London on that day are
welcome. Please bring some plant material for the afternoon session if you
have any.
