Over the past couple of days there have been some e-mail circulars in the
IOA asking if people want to go and dig in northern Israel. Given the
intimate involvement of Israeli archaeology in the expropriation of land
from others, who also happen to live in that tract of land some called
Palestine, I found the quote from the excavation website below
illuminating... I wonder if this sort of thing would have gone on at the
Institute while Ucko was head of the dept?
