Fellowship opportunities at Roslin Institute
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) which
is the UK's principal funder of basic and strategic biological research
has a number of fellowship schemes currently open (see
http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/funding/fellowships/calls.html and
http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/funding/fellowships/Welcome.html). Deadline 14
November 2007, 1600 GMT. Of particular note for the current call is the
BBSRC Institute Career Path Fellowships. This year this scheme, which is
for early-career researchers, is targeted at scientists wishing to be
based at Roslin Institute (now incoporating the Neuropathogenesis Unit)
(www.roslin.ac.uk) or at the Institute of Animal Health (www.iah.ac.uk)
and who wish to pursue research in an area of biology relevant to
animals and to BBSRC's key priorities. This includes those working in
all areas of relevant animal science including genetics, genomics and
numerical biology (e.g. quantitative and population genetics,
bioinformatics and systems modelling, etc). Potential applicants who
wish to be based at Roslin Institute are encouraged to seek the support
of a Roslin Institute research group leader and to contact Dr. Bruce
Whitelaw
([log in to unmask]) as early as possible.
