Dear All
I have just spoken to the SLC BACS payments office and they
categorically deny that they are "offline". The SLC is adamant that it
is "business as usual", all files are being processed, there is no
backlog and there is no delay in students getting paid.
Hope this reassures people.

Subject: SLC offline?
Dear All,
I have just received this email from a colleague with regards to the SLC
being 'offline'. I have contacted the HEI helpline and was advised that
some HEI's were haviong problems but not Oxford. Though it may be
churlish of me I do not have the greatest trust in the HEI helpline, has
anyone else heard about this downtime or had problems with students not
receiving funds even though SSAC's have been generated and succesfully
uploaded for them?
As my colleague mentions we are worried that the students payments will
be delayed but before I send any warnigns out about delayed payments I
was seeing if anyone else had any more detail about this.
Thanks
Penny
Dear Penny
I'm sure you are aware of the problem SLC are having, but in case you're
not SLC told me today that their system is "offline" and has been for
the
last 3 days. All files that you have sent in the last few days have not
been updated onto the system that the operators can see, and
subsequently
loans will not be issued until the system goes live again.
Apparently this is due to the amount of "confirmations" they have been
receiving that they have to go offline to process it all. This is quite
a
blow to our students, and I'm sure to many colleges. [..]
