The "Neurocognition of Decision-Making Group" at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human
Development in Berlin, Germany (http://www.mpib-berlin.mpg.de/snwg/) invites applications for
a postdoctoral position. We are a young, interdisciplinary team investigating mechanisms of
decision-making in the human brain with a combination of neuroimaging (MRI, MEG, EEG,
simultaneous EEG-fMRI) and computational modeling. The good infrastructure (behavioral lab,
EEG, MRI) together with the opportunity to interact and collaborate with colleagues from the MPI
and the large neuroscience community in Berlin contribute to a stimulating and productive
research environment. A successful applicant will need to have a PhD in a field related to cognitive
neuroscience (e.g. informatics, machine learning, neuroscience, medicine, psychology). Applicants
should further have a strong background in the design and statistical analysis of fMRI
experiments. Additional experience in computational/mathematical modeling would be helpful,
but it is not required.
The 3-year position is part of an interdisciplinary project on instrumental behavior and
monitoring, which tries to gain insight in control and learning processes by combining fMRI,
computational modeling, and genetics. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
funds the project. Salary will be according to "EG 13 TVöD", formerly BAT Ib/IIa. The position is
available from January 1st 2008 on.
To apply, please send an interest of research statement, a CV, (p)reprints, and a list of 3
