A colleague is thinking of setting up a work shadowing scheme for school
age girls to spend a day with a female IT professional but wants to talk
to others who have run similar schemes first.
Since they want to focus on girls I will refer them to the UKRC and WISE
and I can think of lots of schemes that give mentoring, summer schools,
industrial project placements etc. but not short shadowing schemes. Does
anyone else have any ideas of who they might talk to for advice on setting
up this type of scheme - or indeed whether it is the right approach to
take?
thanks
