There already is a (little used) section on the OHJobs website for
independent practitioners to list themselves. If you login and go to the
"Individual Availability & Situations Wanted" section, you can place a non-
expiring advert that you are able to update as and when you need to. Larger
companies can post in the "Agencies and OH Providers" section. And, of
course, if you're recruiting, you can place a one month advert under one of
the "Situations Vacant" headings. http://ohjobs.drmaze.net/
Like Geoff, I'd be cautious about appearing to create a cartel, but there's
nothing to stop individuals from listing their own SPECIMEN prices. But I'd
urge everyone not to just put down the same price as everyone else, because
the situations may not be comparable. There's room for price
differentiation in this market as well as differentiation on ways to
fulfill the needs of customers. You can buy bananas in ASDA or Tesco for
less than you would pay in M&S or Waitrose. But you can probably eat the
M&S ones immediately, whereas ADSA's ones will need a week to ripen and may
well go off before they are edible.
You have to decide where you are going to position yourself in the market.
If you can't sell your services at that price, you may need to reduce them,
or see whether there is anything else you can do to entice the customer to
pay what you're asking.
