The AAG does often look like a mass holiday for the entirety of British
geography... I certainly can't justify going just for the conference
despite the number of interesting sessions*. Indeed it seems that there
is far greater diversity of interesting sessions at the AAG organised by
British geographers than at the RGS-IBG... Why is this?
David.
*alternatively UK-based people might want to come to our lovely
Surveillance & Society conference in Sheffield, 'InVisibilities: the
politice and practice of surveillance in everyday life' - small enough
to get actually get some meaningful discussion as well as featuring the
like of Zygmunt Bauman, David Lyon, Hille Koskela, John McGrath and a
whole load of other exciting people from a range of disciplines.
