Lift, London International Festival of Theatre, is recognised as one of
the Europe's leading arts festivals. Since 1981 Lift has introduced
theatre from over 60 countries to venues and unusual sites across London.
Lift is currently developing an exciting new archive to showcase 25 years
of international arts. Lift’s rich collection of photographs, video and
audio recordings, programmes, posters, notes and diaries will give a
unique insight into how a festival of international theatre is planned and
made.
We are looking for an organised, IT literate volunteer with a sharp eye
for detail to arrange Lift’s digital photograph archive. This is an
opportunity to gain beginning-to-end experience of a digital information
management project to anyone planning a career in archive, library or
records management.
The role will involve:
* Assessing what digital images are held on various Lift servers
* Checking these images against an existing digital photo archive and
library
* Renumbering and structuring the digital photo library
We anticipate that this role will take approximately 15 – 20 days. This
can be worked on a temporary part time or full time basis. This post is
voluntary but we can cover expenses with a daily gratuity of £8 and
references. Basic archives training is also available.
