In 2001 Carol Tulloch curated a small exhibition about black hairstyles
at the V&A. It was complemented by a series of talks and a
cataloguing/collecting project.

You might also like to look at the work of artist Sonia Boyce. Her work
explores issues of race, ethnicity and stereotype through many media.
I'm pretty sure she produced a photographic series on 'black blondes'
and certainly created pieces from collected black hair for her show 'Do
