Dear All,
A heartfelt 'Thank You' for your presence and participation in this our very
first e-seminar. The Conference/Study Day provided a most fitting climax to
a month of discussion around our four themes. Such a passion for teacher
research and such lively, open and generous exchanges of ideas, resources
and experiences made yesterday's Day sponsored by CARN and two BERA SIGs a
very special occasion for all. As one of yesterday's presenters said we took
on discussions from last year's Research Mentoring Conference at Bath Spa
University to a new level this year. Our next Research Mentoring Conference?
Planning is already underway for another event at Sharnbrook Upper School...
My dream is that discussions on this list will evolve round our four themes.
I have returned to Bath utterly exhausted but very happy to have been able
to share in our growth of educational knowledge this month! I ask that you
to bear with me as I now must ease back to recharge my Convenor's batteries!
I believe that we have a secure and dynamic platform from which to develop
knowledge and share understandings about research by and for us as teachers.
Thank you especially to those who have posted to our e-seminar. It takes
courage and determination to participate in a seminar when you cannot see
others and it takes trust to use email to put forward ideas for discussion.
This was, as I said earlier our first e-seminar. I know there is as much to
learn about how to convene such an event as about how to participate in it.
Your patience and help as we developed our on-line community is appreciated.
What have we learned from our e-seminar and Conference? How can we improve
what we have embarked on together as we respond to our four seminar themes?
Please continue to write in with reflections, ideas and resources to share.
Very best wishes,
Sarah
