Dear All,
I have a particular interest in the US native trees and shrubs which could
be grown in the UK, for example Hammamelis virginiana and Zanthoxylum
americanum. There are lots of useful sources of information in the US
about medicinal plants, and one example is:
The Herbal Dispatch, the newsletter of the Mountain State University
Medicinal Botanicals Program. The July and August 2007 issues of are
available online at:
http://www.mountainstate.edu/usda/newsletters/
July Contents:
- MBP Holds High-Tunnel Vegetable Production Workshop
- Potentials of leaves of Aspilia africana (Compositae) in wound care: an
experimental evaluation
- Aspilia, Wild Sunflower [Aspilia mossambicensis (Oliv.) Wild.]
- Canada Moonseed (Menispermum canadense L.)
- Echinacea 'halves risk of catching cold'
- Appalachian Plant Profile: Chicory
- Organic Vegetable Gardening, 3rd and Final Part
- Plant Sale
- Classified Ad: Goldenseal
- Recipe: Creamed Jewelweed Shoots & Rice
If you have any other good sources about US plants then do post them to
the list with the same subject line (simplest is to reply to this message)
and we will gradually build up archives of resources available!
Best wishes
Anne
