Ph.D. student Position Available
The NeuroImaging Center Groningen of the School of Behavioral and Cognitive
Neurosciences (NL) in collaboration with both the VU University Medical Center,
Amsterdam (NL) and the Institute of Psychiatry (IoP) of the King's College
London (UK) has a position for a Ph.D. student available in the field of
neuroimaging and affective disorders.
We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated candidate with a
Masters degree in mathematics, physics, informatics, artificial intelligence,
experimental psychology or comparable background. Interest and/or previous
experience in/with neuroscience, MRI methods, design and image analysis are
a plus. Experience with the LINUX/UNIX operating system is a positive add on.
The successful candidate will participate in the multicenter project
"Neuro-biology of affective disorders" under the supervision of
Dr. A.A.T.Simone Reinders. The main focus of this project is twofold: <1>
optimizing the data acquisition of structural MRI, functional MRI, DTI,
and resting state MRI <2> the assessment of differences between psychiatric
patients and healthy controls in brain functioning, anatomy and functional
connectivity.
The appointment, which starts as soon as possible, will be on a temporary
basis for a maximum period of four years (one year plus a further three
years after a positive evaluation) and must result in a dissertation.
