Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference 2007

"Progression Routes in Music Technology Education"

Leeds College of Music

Friday 19th - Saturday 20th October

The Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference (LIMTEC),
now in its fifth year, is one of the leading events of its kind in the UK.
LIMTEC continues to provide a forum for the promotion of good practice in
music technology and music production based teaching and learning in
Further and Higher Education.

The conference will offer lively debate and stimulating presentations,
which will address issues of the place of music technology within the
broader context of the performing arts sector, research and professional
communities. The focus of this year's conference is the progression routes
in music technology education, and associated subjects, from school
through to postgraduate level.

Keynote Speaker:

Andrew J Kitchenham

The Music Technology Centre

'Music Technology - an integral part of the 21st Century Music Curriculum'

Andrew runs The Music Technology Centre, a training and consultancy
business for educators and industry alike. His current work is with
Steinberg, developing educational resources for their music production
software Cubase. Andrew was the Chair of Music Technology for EDEXCEL
A-Level for over 10 years.

His keynote address will explore the role of music technology within the
21st century music curriculum, making particular emphasis on the effective
use of technology as a vehicle to facilitate the creation of original
music with students who have little traditional performing skill.
