You and your associates are invited to the 55th annual conference of
the Western Spectroscopy Association, scheduled for February 6-8, 2008.
The 55th conference program includes ten invited lectures, seven
contributed lectures, and two poster sessions. Registration and
complete information are available on the Internet at
http://www.westernspectroscopy.org/
The conference is held at the Asilomar Conference Center, which is
located on the spectacular Monterey Peninsula near Asilomar State
Beach, California. There are many scenic and historic sites located
nearby; guests are also invited to the social hours, meals, and
banquet. The Western Spectroscopy Association meeting was begun in
1954 by G.C. Pimentel, W. C. Merrill, J. W. Otvos, S. S. Penner, S. R.
Smith, and J. C. Guffy as a regional meeting on molecular spectroscopy.
In the intervening years it has developed into a forum for research
in spectroscopy (broadly interpreted) from small colleges to research
universities to
national laboratories across the west. Its informal setting is designed
to encourage participation of students and postdoctoral associates, and
its regional nature enhances the development of longer-term scientific
cooperation.
Registration deadline is November 19, 2007
