The XVI SYMPOSIUM ON ATOMIC, CLUSTER AND SURFACE PHYSICS
Eurotel Victoria, 1865 Les Diablerets, Switzerland, 20.-25.1.2008
The Symposium on Atomic, Cluster and Surface Physics (SASP) is one in a
continuing biennial series of conferences which seeks to promote the growth
of scientific knowledge and effective exchange of information among
scientists in the field of atomic, molecular, and surface physics and
related areas. The symposium deals in particular with interactions between
ions, electrons, photons, atoms, molecules and clusters and their
interactions with surfaces, but in fact the subject matter of SASP is really
much wider than the acronym would indicate.
The SASP conferences are traditionally held in locations which offer good
access to winter sports and include ample time in the program for informal
discussions on the ski slopes and in the chair lifts. The location for SASP
2008 is the Swiss mountain village “Les Diablerets”, with its 4-star hotel
and adjacent conference center which also regularly serves as a Gordon
conference location.
The program includes 24 invited lectures plus 8 hot topic presentations
chosen from the contributed papers. Besides the title topics, SASP 2008 will
place particular emphasis on following three areas:
- Gas-surface reactions
- Biomolecules
- Helium droplets and cold molecules
Confirmed invited speakers include:
Chandler, Dave (Sandia National Laboratories)
DeVries, Matanjah (UC Santa Barbara)
Gabelica, Valérie (Université de Liège)

please visit the conference website: http://sasp2008.epfl.ch/
Registration and abstract submission starts immediately via the conference
web site and is on a first come, first serve basis. Please make sure to
register before Oktober 1, because after this date, the SASP2008 reservation
for the block of rooms in the very nice 4* Eurotel Victoria ends and we will
not be able to guarantee a room in the conference hotel after this date.
Please send all inquiries about the conference to: [log in to unmask]
We hope you will be able to attend and look forward to welcoming you in Les
Diablerets in January 2008.
