FURTHER CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR U.K. FILM MAKERS
The Insight Film Festival 2007 - successfully launched in June - is making a further call for entries
for films by young film makers from the U.K. who can explore the passion and controversy of
faith.
The organisers are offering £1,000 as a first prize to the best film of 30 minutes or less.
Winning entries will be decided by a number of top line judges from the media industry.
The judging panel includes:
David N. Weiss, co-writer of Shrek 2
Anna Cox, Head of Development with BBC Television's Religion and Ethics department
Dr Rajinder Dudrah, Head of Drama and Senior Lecturer in Screen Studies at the University of
Manchester
Sarfraz Manzoor, writer and broadcaster.
A film may be entered by anyone from the UK, providing that the `main contact' is aged 16-30.
Entries may be received until 28th September 2007.
The Festival has already attracted a number of entries from throughout the U.K.
Director John Forrest explained “Religious beliefs and the passion and depth with which they are
held are strong driving forces in our global society. The intention of the Festival is to encourage
young film makers to look at why that is.”
Entries are invited from those of any faith background as well as those with none.
The winning entry will be screened at the INSIGHT FILM FESTIVAL in Manchester on 21 November
2007.
