Dear Cheryl,
unless they have some Chinese background, it would still be challenging to
bring them to GCSE just after one year. However, it depends on the students
potential as well, so it is challenging but not impossible, I would say.
You may know that both SSAT and the British council have summer immersion
course in China. I know Beijing Normal University also have intensive
Mandarin course for foreign students, if you want to know more of any of
these, please let me know.
