Hi - not sure quite what I would do a paper on - but my research area
has been street homeless, drugs (DIP) and agencies - with Actor-Network
Theory as the methodological framework, so am quite sure I can put
something together that would be of interest. Not sure what my
supervisor will say, just entered completion year.... but what the....

We've had a couple of offers of papers for a broadly themed UTR event on
urban research. Thanks to those who have offered papers. I was hoping to
have a few more as we have only 10 days to turn around the proposal, so
if you are interested in either:
Presenting a paper
Sitting on a discussion panel
Please do let me know as soon as possible. Proposed format of the
session is to have at least 2 papers, if possible up to 4 in order to
set the scene for discussion, at this stage all we need is a title so
dont worry if you havent got a full paper, even just the title and an
idea will be enough to get us started.
This paper session would be followed by a second session focussed on a
discursive round-table / focus group discussing the issues facing urban
sociologists in a multi-disciplinary research environment. This
discussion would be broadly framed with some set bullet points to help
guide the discussion should they be required on themes set by the
participants / paper session.
If you are interested either in participating through paper presentation
or in the round-table / focus group discussion session please let me
know in the next 7 days so I can finalise the proposal, feel free to
contact me for more information in the meantime. Once we have a solid
proposal I'll also circulate information on the proposed session in the
next edition of "The Word" for wider circulation to other colleagues.
Thanks again for the support, please do get in touch ;)
Best wishes and warmest regards
Peter
