***Apologies for cross posting***
The JISC funded Version Identification Framework (VIF) Project team are
looking for knowledgeable colleagues to fill in a short survey on
versioning issues.
The team is conducting a requirements exercise for version identification
looking at a range of digital object types (following on from the previous
VERSIONS Project which looked at text documents only) with the ultimate
aim being to develop a framework for dealing with versioning issues.
We hope to clearly establish requirements for version identification and
gather details about the current use of digital objects and versioning
questions that arise from their creation, management, storage and use
through two surveys; one aimed at academics and researchers and one aimed
at information professionals. Results will be used to help ensure that any
framework developed is both robust and useful.

We would very much appreciate it if members of the list could fill in the
relevant survey and/or pass on this post to any colleagues who might have
an understanding of versioning issues.
On completing the survey, respondents will be given the chance to enter a
draw to win one of three £50 Amazon vouchers.
