It is a very attractive full-colour book with numerous photographs of Gordon
in action. The first 100 pages cover the same ground as the BBC series - how
ethnobotany can help us learn about Mesolithic diet; the rest of the book
surveys about 250 British wild plants, drawing on Mears and Hillman's
experience of their edibility. Though not a field guide, there are lots of
hints and photos of plant processing techniques. Strongly recommended!
