Idling through a copy of a Scots dictionary which I happen to have, I
came across the following delightful terms:
funker: a horse or cow prone to kicking
fyooyak: a tiny amount
gamaleerie: big boned, lean, long-necked and awkward
galravitiching: noisy riotous feasting
buttock-mail: fine imposed by the church as a penalty for fornication
wobble: to sell a drink without a license
snister: a severe blast in the face
snew: past tense of snow
hooferie: folly
widdershinsgrow: that which grows contrary to the course of the sun
cogwame: a protuberant belly
gruzzle: 1) to pant or speak huskily, 2) to eat gluttonously
weegler: on who waddles
nodge: to go about in a dull, stupid state
