Though I'm meeting my significant other at another location in downtown
WASH DC and wouldn't be making a special trip just for the National Book
Festival, I'm still not motivated enough by the line-up (or the writers in
other classifications) to put up with the parking problems and considerable
walk. Dana Gioia & Charles Simic must have been the arbiters of taste.
Wouldn't mind witnessing N. Scott Momaday (again) and Jon Stallworthy (for
the first time), but finally wouldn't it just be critical coverage rather
than the expectation of extrapolatable invention? Barry Alpert
