Hi Dominic,
gip plugin is not a service that you start is a script that runs every
minute or so. You can find the scripts in /opt/lcg/var/gip/plugin there
is a static part and a dynamic script in the subdirs.
This is what is on my system
/opt/lcg/var/gip
/opt/lcg/var/gip/ldif
/opt/lcg/var/gip/ldif/static-file-dSE.ldif
/opt/lcg/var/gip/ldif/static-file-SE.ldif
/opt/lcg/var/gip/ldif/static-file-dSE.ldif.save
/opt/lcg/var/gip/plugin
/opt/lcg/var/gip/plugin/lcg-info-dynamic-dcache
/opt/lcg/var/gip/provider
/opt/lcg/var/gip/tmp
/opt/lcg/var/gip/tmp/lcg-info-dynamic-dcache.ldif.4449
/opt/lcg/var/gip/lcg-info-static-dse.conf
/opt/lcg/var/gip/lcg-info-static-se.conf
replace dcache with dpm when you look for your files.
There are 3 levels in the info system service level (BDII/globus-mds),
site BDII collects all the site service information, top level BDII
collects all the sites information. The BDII on lcg.shef.ac.uk has been
configured now as a top level BDII. You basically are not publishing
anymore.
If your site-info.def is correct please run on lcg-shef.ac.uk.
cd your-yaim-installation
./scripts/configure_node your-site-info.def BDII_site
note the suffix _site.
cheers
alessandra
