Hi Dominic,
your *site* BDII on the lcg.shef.ac.uk machine. If you have a bdii
service on the CE you should turn it off and remove it from the list of
active services. globus-mds instead has to work. Underneath both there
is a slapd so they might look similar but they are not.
Have you changed your site-info.def on your *site* BDII on
lcg.shef.ac.uk before reconfiguring it?
