I recently received information about an drugs educational tool that 
individual social workers and social care staff working with drug issues 
may be interested in. The following description is from the company that 
developed the product.  Please direct any queries directly to her and not 
to me or the list:

It is an interactive touch screen Drugs education kiosk which can be used 
by schools, prisons, drugs action teams, police or any other community 
facing organisation. Due to the success of this product which have just 
released Drugs Box IV Pro. This is a professional application aimed at 
Drugs Workers but would be equally suited for Social Workers. It is 
available via an online subscription which then downloads the application 
to your phone. Once the application is on the phone it gives the drugs 
worker access to information around 50 drugs including, law, 
classification, law, first aid. There are also drug related job vacancies 
and press releases from DrugScope as well as constant news feeds. We 
currently have DrugScope, Drug link and DDN as partners. The application 
also lists drugs services by region so workers can refer across the UK, 
there are also blogs, quizzes, media reports and therapies. As you can see 
an application such as this would be an invaluable tool for social 
workers, and because we are constantly updating our software the 
information is always up to date. As policies and practices change the 
information is updated keeping social workers updated on all the newest 
information and for around £25 for a years subscription would be a very 
worthwhile purchase. If you have any contacts who you think would be

I was very interested to read the article “Social work training needs to 
include substance misuse” on the community care website and from reading 
it feel that there is a real possibility that our product could provide a 
invaluable support to thousands of social workers. We are also constantly 
looking for other partners and sources of information to put onto the 
application
