Subject: [PSCI-COM] Reminder: STEMPRA goes to the BA Festival of Science
Every September, the BA Festival of Science attracts the UK's top science correspondents to report on research presented at the event. Now, STEMPRA is joining forces with the Festival to give you advice on how to boost coverage of your institution's research - and give you a unique opportunity to meet the journalists responsible for science in the media.
Includes sessions on:
* Promoting your organisation's science stories
* Using national science events to showcase your scientists
* What journalists need from you
* How to be the perfect press officer
* View from the lab: how a scientist copes with dealing with the media.
Followed by the AstraZeneca Media Reception - The perfect opportunity to meet the national journalists and chat over a glass of wine, courtesy of AstraZeneca, sponsors of the BA Festival of Science Press Centre.
Date: 1.30pm, Weds 12 September, University of York
Cost: Free to BA Section Communication Officers and STEMPRA members; otherwise £15 (includes membership)
To register, please email [log in to unmask]
Deadline for registering: Friday 17 August 2007. Places will be allocated after this date. It is recommended that you do not book travel until your place has been confirmed.
